Dr. Beatriz Suarez

Dr. Beatriz Suarez was born and raised in Florida. Her passion for ocular health was ignited by her mother who was an ophthalmologist in Cuba. While completing her bachelor’s in Microbiology and Cell Sciences at the University of Florida, she started working in optometry and ophthalmology clinics. She worked various supportive roles within the field. Due to her strong interest in ocular disease and optometry she later started at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
During optometry school she co-founded a club to teach clinical and conversational terms in Spanish to other interested students. Her first year, she completed research on corneal sensitivity testing, which she would later go on to present at the American Academy of Optometry meeting. During her time in optometry school she was also the Vice President of Gamma Omicron, an organization for empowerment of women in optometry. She was also part of Beta Sigma Kappa an international optometric honor society. She graduated from Southern College of Optometry Summa Cum Laude.
Due to her continuous passion for ocular disease, Dr. Suarez has pursued a residency. She is excited to provide thorough, thoughtful care and patient education as a resident optometrist at Omni Eye Services.
