Dr. Priya Patel joins the Omni Eye Services team as our Corneal Specialist and Cataract Surgeon. Dr. Patel earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society and was the recipient of the Dr. George Hill Scholarship. Dr. Patel went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the New York University Department of Ophthalmology, where she was honored with the appointment of Chief Resident. She subsequently completed her Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the Emory Eye Center here in Atlanta.
Dr. Patel’s areas of expertise include corneal diseases, anterior segment pathology, and cataract surgery. Her surgical specialties are full and partial thickness corneal transplants, and laser assisted cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses. While in training, she participated in global ophthalmology missions which she hopes to continue in the future. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Cornea Society. Outside of the office, she enjoys being outdoors and traveling, and she is conversational in Spanish.
